Gadkari asks PM publish list of black money account holders

Attacking the Congress-led UPA government on the issues of corruption and black money, the
BJP today demanded that the Prime Minister make public the
list of names of those who have black money stashed in foreign
banks.
"We had requested the Prime Minister to publish the
list of those who had black money in foreign banks, but he
said: no. Why has he declined to publish the list? Is it
because the list contains names of some Congress leaders?"
Gadkari questioned at a BJP rally here.
He said while countries like Fiji and the Philippines
have brought back black money to their countries, the Centre
had not made any effort to do so.
"Whose money is it? If anyone has a right to the
money, it is the poor people of our country. I can assure you
that if BJP comes to power at the Centre, it will build roads,
develop agriculture and bring about all-round development with
the money," Gadkari said.
Claiming that the UPA government had lost credibility,
leadership and support, Gadkari said, "the Prime Minister has
failed to contain corruption. Nobody listens to him, not even
his ministers."
Referring to the CWG and 2G spectrum scams, Gadkari
said, "not only (erstwhile telecom minister) Raja, (Union
Minister) P Chidambaram and the Congress also cooperated in
the 2G scam. If Raja can be jailed, why not Chidambaram?"
While prices of kerosene, LPG and other essential
commodities were low during the NDA rule the GDP had now come
down to 7 per cent and the Rupee devalued, he observed.
Turning to key UPA ally Trinamool Congress, Gadkari
said party chief Mamata Banerjee had kept quiet on the issue
of corruption and price rise.
"If she is really serious in her opposition to these
issues, why is she not showing the courage of not supporting
the UPA?" Gadkari said.

Boys with regressive autism have bigger brains: Study

Boys suffering from a certain type
of autism have bigger brains than their peers without the
developmental disorder, a new study has found.
In the largest of its kind study, researchers from the
University of California found that children with regressive
autism -- which impinges speech and social skills -- had six
per cent greater brain volume than those of their non-autistic
counterparts.
The finding, they said, adds to a growing body of
evidence suggesting the incurable condition could be linked to
neurological growth and development, the Daily Mail reported.
Autism, which affects one in every 100 people, inhibits
the ability to communicate, recognise emotions and socialise,
and can take a mild or severe form.
For the study, published in the journal Proceedings of
the National Academy of Sciences Early Edition, the research
team used magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans to assess the
brains of 180 children, aged two to four.
Of those children, 61 had regressive autism, a form of
autism which becomes apparent when a child is aged 18 to 24
months, and affects language and social skills. And of the
remaining children, 53 had early onset autism and 66 did not
have autism at all.
Results showed that boys with regressive autism had six
per cent more brain volume than their peers who didn't have
autism, while the brains of boys with early onset autism were
similar in size to the brains of non-autistic children.
"The finding that boys with regressive autism show a
different form of neuropathology than boys with early onset
autism is novel," said Christine Wu Nordahl who led the study.
"Obtaining MRI scans in 3-year-old children without the
use of sedation may seem quite challenging. But, by working
closely with the parents, we actually were successful more
than 85 percent of the time," Nordahl said.
According to the researchers, accelerated head growth and
brain enlargement was consistently observed in the group of
children diagnosed with regressive autism.
However, all of the autistic girls in the study, even
those with regressive autism, showed no difference in brain
size than their non-autistic peers, suggesting that this
phenomenon could be gender-specific, they said.
"Moreover, when we evaluated girls with autism separately
from boys, we found that no girls -- regardless of whether
they had early onset or regressive autism --had abnormal brain
growth," Nordahl added.
The findings are now prompting scientists to investigate
how brain pathology varies within different subgroups of
autism. This will hopefully enable more effective treatments
to be developed, the researchers said.

No 51% FDI retail in WB: Mamata

implementation of 51 per cent Foreign Direct Investment in
retail sector in the state.
"We will not allow 51 per cent FDI in retail in West
Bengal. It will affect the livelihood of about five crore
people," the Trinamool Congress chief told reporters here.
The Union Cabinet on November 24 approved 51 per cent FDI
in multi-brand retail paving the way for global giants like
WalMart to open mega stores in cities with population of over
one million.

ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਕ ਕੇਨ ਘੋਸ਼ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਨਾਲੋ ਕਮਾਈ ਦੇ ਮੌਕੇ ਵਧੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਸਦਾ ਨਤੀਜਾ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਬੀਤੇ ਦੋ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਚ ਅੱਠ ਫਿਲਮਾਂ ਨੇ 100 ਕਰੋੜ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਦਾ ਕਾਰੋਬਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਹੀਰੋਇਨ ਰਿਤੂਪਰਨਾ ਸੈਨਗੁਪਤਾ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਚ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਫਿਲਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਚ ਵਾਧਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। ਕਲਕਤਾ ਚੈਬਰ ਆਫ ਕਾਮਰਸ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਅਲਕਾ ਬਾਂਗੜ ਨੇ ਸਵਾਗਤੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਨ ਦਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਹਰ ਸਾਲ 52 ਭਾਸ਼ਾਂ ਚ ਭਾਰਤ ਚ ਇਕ ਹਜਾਰ ਫਿਲਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਿਰਮਾਣ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ 32 ਕਾਰਪੋਰੇਟ ਹਾਊਸ ਸਮੇਤ 400 ਸੰਸਥਾਵਾਂ ਵਲੋਂ ਫਿਲਮਾਂ ਬਣਾਈਆਂ ਜਾ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਸਾਲਾਨਾ 40 ਲੱਖ ਟਿਕਟਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਿਕਰੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ 60 ਲੱਖ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਥੇ ਰੋਜਗਾਰ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ। ਫਿਲਮ ਨਗਰੀਦਾ ਸਾਲਾਨਾ ਕਾਰੋਬਾਰ ਹੁਣ 12 ਹਜਾਰ ਕਰੋੜ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਹੋ

ਖ਼ਾਲਸਾ ਪੰਥ ਦੀ ਨਿਰਾਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਲੱਖਣ ਗਾਥਾ ਨੂੰ, ਆਵਾਜ਼, ਰੌਸ਼ਨੀ, ਕਲਾ ਤੇ ਸਪੇਸ ਦੀ ਮਲਟੀਮੀਡੀਆ ਤੇ ਅਤਿ-ਆਧੁਨਿਕ ਇਲੈਕਟ੍ਰਾਨਿਕ ਤਕਨਾਲੋਜੀ ਜ਼ਰੀਏ ਸੁਚੱਜਾ ਤੇ ਸਾਰਥਕ ਸੁਮੇਲ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਮੁੜ ਸਜੀਵ ਤੇ ਸੁਰਜੀਤ ਕਰੇਗਾ 'ਵਿਰਾਸਤ-ਏ-ਖ਼ਾਲਸਾ ਕੇਂਦਰ'। ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅਨੰਦਪੁਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਰਖੇਜ਼ ਧਰਤੀ 'ਤੇ ਸ਼ਿਵਾਲਿਕ ਦੀਆਂ ਪਹਾੜੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਗੋਦ ਵਿਚ 100 ਏਕੜ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਵਿਚ 300 ਕਰੋੜ ਰੁਪਏ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਰਕਮ ਨਾਲ ਉਸਾਰਿਆ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ 'ਵਿਰਾਸਤ-ਏ-ਖ਼ਾਲਸਾ ਕੇਂਦਰ' ਸਿੱਖ ਕੌਮ ਦੇ ਧਰਮ, ਵਿਰਸੇ ਤੇ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰ ਦੇ 500 ਸਾਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੁਰਲੱਭ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕ ਕਲਾ-ਕ੍ਰਿਤਾਂ ਤੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਨਾਲ ਰੂਪਮਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਦੇਖਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਘਟਨਾਵਾਂ ਤੇ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੰਢਾਉਂਦਾ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਕਰੇਗਾ। ਖ਼ਾਲਸਾ ਪੰਥ ਦੀ ਜਨਮ ਸਥਲੀ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕੇਸਗੜ• ਸਾਹਿਬ ਤੋਂ ਦੱਖਣ-ਪੂਰਬੀ ਬਾਹੀ ਵੱਲ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕ ਕਿਲ•ਾ ਅਨੰਦਗੜ• ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਪੂਰਬੀ ਵੱਖੀ ਵਿਚ ਸ਼ਿਵਾਲਿਕ ਦੀਆਂ ਪਹਾੜੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਮਨਮੋਹਕ ਗੋਦ ਵਿਚ ਬਣਿਆ 'ਵਿਰਾਸਤ-ਏ-ਖ਼ਾਲਸਾ ਕੇਂਦਰ' 100 ਏਕੜ ਵਿਚ ਫ਼ੈਲਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਦੀ ਸਮੁੱਚੀ ਇਮਾਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖਣ ਤੋਂ ਇੰਝ ਜਾਪਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਗੋਡਿਆਂ ਭਾਰ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਹੱਥ ਅੱਡੀ ਰੱਬ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਮੰਗ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੋਵੇ। ਕਿਲ•ਾ ਅਨੰਦਗੜ• ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਪਹਾੜੀਆਂ, ਖੱਡਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਚੋਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਣਾਵਟ ਨਾਲ ਤਿਆਰ ਕਰਕੇ ਝੀਲ ਵਿਚ ਬਦਲ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਪੰਜ ਹੋਰ ਛੋਟੀਆਂ ਝੀਲਾਂ ਬਣਾਈਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨ•ਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਪਾਣੀ ਇਕ-ਦੂਜੀ ਵਿਚ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਵਹਿੰਦਾ ਰਹੇਗਾ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ 6500 ਵਰਗ ਮੀਟਰ ਵਿਚ ਫ਼ੈਲਿਆ ਅਜਾਇਬਘਰ ਇਸ 'ਵਿਰਾਸਤ-ਏ-ਖ਼ਾਲਸਾ ਕੇਂਦਰ' ਦਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਹੈ। ਕਿਲ•ਾ ਅਨੰਦਗੜ• ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਸੜਕ ਤੋਂ ਰੈਂਪ ਵਾਂਗ ਢਲਦੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਵਿਰਾਸਤੀ ਇਮਾਰਤ ਵਿਚ 321 ਮੀਟਰ ਦੀ ਉਚਾਈ 'ਤੇ 327 ਮੀਟਰ ਦੀ ਉਚਾਈ ਤੱਕ ਜਾਣ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਜਿਥੇ ਵਿਰਾਸਤ ਦਾ ਅਦਭੁੱਤ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਦੇਖਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ 500 ਸਾਲ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਭੂਗੋਲਿਕ, ਭਾਵਨਾਤਮਿਕ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਨਸਿਕ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਥੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਹੋਰ ਜਾਨਣ ਦੀ ਤੀਬਰਤਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਕਮਲ ਦੇ ਫ਼ੁੱਲ ਦੇ ਆਕਾਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਪੰਜ ਪੱਤੀਆਂ ਵਰਗਾ ਨੁਮਾਇਸ਼ ਭਵਨ ਹੈ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਨਾਲ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਇਮਾਰਤ ਨਾਲੋਂ 31 ਮੀਟਰ ਉੱਚਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਫ਼ੁਲਨੁਮਾ ਇਮਾਰਤ ਨੂੰ 'ਪੰਜ ਪਿਆਰਿਆਂ' ਦੇ ਨਾਂਅ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਮਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਕੁੱਲ ਗਿਆਰਾਂ ਹਿੱਸੇ ਦਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਤਵਾਰੀਖ ਨੂੰ ਬਿਆਨਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ। 'ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮ ਚੜ•ਦੀ ਕਲਾ, ਤੇਰੇ ਭਾਣੇ ਸਰਬੱਤ ਦਾ ਭਲਾ' ਦੇ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਨਾਲ ਇਸ ਵਿਰਾਸਤ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਦਾ ਅੰਤਿਮ ਪੜਾਅ ਖ਼ਤਮ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। 'ਵਿਰਾਸਤ-ਏ-ਖ਼ਾਲਸਾ ਕੇਂਦਰ' ਨੂੰ ਦੋ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵੰਡਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਭਾਗ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰਗੱਦੀ ਸੌਂਪਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਜੋਤੀ-ਜੋਤਿ ਸਮਾਉਣ ਤੱਕ ਦੇ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਰੂਪਮਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਦੂਜਾ ਭਾਗ ਬਾਬਾ ਬੰਦਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਹਾਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਅਠਾਰਵੀਂ ਸਦੀ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਾਲਸਾ ਪੰਥ ਦੇ ਖੂਨੀ ਪੰਧ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਸਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ 1947 ਦੀ ਭਾਰਤ-ਪਾਕਿ ਵੰਡ ਦੇ ਬਿਰਤਾਂਤ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਮਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਂਝ ਤਾਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਗੈਲਰੀਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਕਲਾਕ੍ਰਿਤਾਂ ਤੇ ਆਧੁਨਿਕ ਤਕਨੀਕਾਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਵਲੋਂ ਸਿੱਖੀ ਦਾ ਬੂਟਾ ਲਗਾਉਣ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਵਲੋਂ ਖ਼ਾਲਸੇ ਦੀ ਸਾਜਨਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਇਸ ਬੂਟੇ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਪੂਰਨਤਾ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਣ ਤੱਕ ਦੇ ਅਦੁੱਤੀ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਦਭੁੱਤ, ਕਲਾਤਮਿਕ ਅਤੇ ਸਜੀਵ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਰੂਪਮਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਇਮਾਰਤ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਕੜਾਕੇ ਦੀ ਧੁੱਪ ਵਿਚ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਰਜਨ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਤੱਤੀ ਤਵੀ 'ਤੇ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ ਸ਼ਹਾਦਤ ਵਾਲੀ ਘਟਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਬੜੇ ਹੀ ਅਲੋਕਾਰੀ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਰੂਪਮਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਏਅਰ ਕੰਡੀਸ਼ਨਡ ਗੈਲਰੀਆਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਨਿਕਲ ਕੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਤੱਤੀ ਤਵੀ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਬਦਲੇ ਤਾਪਮਾਨ ਵਿਚ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕੋਲ ਬਲ ਰਹੀ ਤਵੀ ਦੀ ਤਪਸ਼ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਲੂਹ ਰਹੀ ਹੋਵੇ। 'ਵਿਰਾਸਤ-ਏ-ਖ਼ਾਲਸਾ ਕੇਂਦਰ' ਵਿਚ ਦੇਖਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਲਈ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਗਾਈਡ ਨਹੀਂ , ਆਡੀਓ ਗਾਈਡ ਨਾਂਅ ਦਾ ਇਕ ਯੰਤਰ ਕੰਨ ਨਾਲ ਲਗਾ ਕੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਚੁਣੀ ਹੋਈ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਵਿਚ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ। ਇਸ ਵਿਰਾਸਤੀ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਵਿਚ ਖ਼ਾਲਸਾ ਪੰਥ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ-ਨਾਲ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਦਿਖਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਵਿਰਾਸਤੀ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਦੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਹਿੱਸੇ ਵਿਚ ਪੈਦਲ ਚੱਲਣ ਵਾਲੇ 165 ਮੀਟਰ ਲੰਬੇ ਪੁਲ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪਹੁੰਚਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕੇਗਾ ਤੇ ਇਸ ਭਾਗ ਵਿਚ ਦੋ ਮੰਜ਼ਿਲਾ ਰੈਫ਼ਰੈਂਸ ਲਾਇਬਰੇਰੀ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ। ਇਸ ਵਿਚ ਖੋਜ ਪੁਸਤਕਾਂ, ਹੱਥ ਲਿਖਤ ਖਰੜੇ ਤੇ ਹਵਾਲਾ ਸਮੱਗਰੀ, ਫ਼ਿਲਮਾਂ, ਵੀਡੀਓ ਰਿਕਾਰਡ ਅਤੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਾਗਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਰੀਕਾਰਡਿੰਗ ਕਰਕੇ ਰੱਖੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ। ਅਸਥਾਈ ਨੁਮਾਇਸ਼ਾਂ ਲਈ ਖ਼ਾਸ ਗੈਲਰੀ ਅਤੇ 400 ਸੀਟਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਆਡੀਟੋਰੀਅਮ ਹੈ। ਵਿਰਾਸਤ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਨੂੰ ਸੁੰਦਰਤਾ ਤੇ ਸ਼ੀਤਲਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ 7 ਏਕੜ ਵਿਚ ਫ਼ੈਲਿਆ ਔਸਤ 2.5 ਫ਼ੁੱਟ ਡੂੰਘਾਈ ਵਾਲਾ ਤਲਾਬ ਅਤੇ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਨੀਲੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਵਹਿੰਦਾ ਝਰਨਾ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ 'ਵਾਟਰ ਬਾਡੀ' ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

Woman cannot be made to wait for maintenance and starve: Court

For grant of interim maintenance,
a woman cannot be made to wait for the outcome of a trial to
prove her allegations against her husband and starve till
then, a Delhi court has said.
"A lady cannot be forced to starvation by declining an
interim relief on the basis of pleas which require evidence
for adjudication," Metropolitan Magistrate (Mahila Court)
Sunena Sharma said.
"It is to be observed that at this interim stage only a
prima facie view based on the pleadings and other materials on
record is to be taken into consideration as the allegations
and counter allegations shall be proved by the parties at
subsequent stage of trial," she added.
The court made the remarks, while directing East Delhi
resident Vijay, a motor mechanic, to pay Rs 2,500 to his
estranged wife Gudya and Rs 1,500 to their child as monthly
maintenance to take care of themselves.
Gudya told the court she had been living away from her
husband since 2009 and he never bothered to take either her
care or their child.
She alleged that she was forced to leave her matrimonial
house due to physical and mental harassment by Vijay and his
family members, who made a persistent demand of dowry and used
to beat her up and make her starve for days.
The court found that Gudya had lodged a complaint against
Vijay with the Crime Against Women Cell of Delhi Police but no
case had been registered.
